At Legacy trails, Cultivating Intentional Fatherhood is our mission. This is to provide fathers and their children with meaningful opportunities to bond, learn, and grow together in nature. By focusing on hunting as both a skill and a medium for intentional conversations, we aim to create lifelong memories and strengthen family relationships through shared experiences. We also have made it a priority to preserve the sport of hunting through education, conservation and the promotion of our hunting heritage
Our plan includes monthly hunting trips with our Florida and Georgia chapters, with a vision to expand nationwide as support for the program grows. These experiences will be enriched by a detailed training syllabus, taught by skilled facilitators who will guide participants through both the technical and relational aspects of each outing.
What We Offer:
- Real-Life Skill Development: Fathers and children will learn fundamental outdoor survival skills, including campsite setup, fire building, food preparation, and animal processing. These skills not only create a practical skill base but also instill confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
- Hunting Education: In addition to the practicalities of hunting—safety, techniques, and principles—we emphasize communication, teamwork, and how to support one another during the hunt. These trips are designed to foster understanding between father and child, laying the foundation for ongoing positive interactions.
- Intentional Conversations: We create space for conversations on topics that strengthen the father-child relationship, such as long-term bonding, the importance of quality time, and teamwork. Through shared tasks and challenges in nature, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for each other’s strengths and contributions.
Intentional Fatherhood:
Beyond the technical skills, our program emphasizes the deeper, relational lessons that make each trip unique. Fathers and children will discuss:
- Teamwork and Splitting Duties: Sharing tasks to teach trust, responsibility, and the importance of working together as a team.
- Communication Skills: Creating opportunities for open, honest, and thoughtful conversation, helping fathers and children strengthen their connection.
- Long-Term Bonding: Understanding how intentional time spent together can affect the parent-child relationship in the long run.
- Long-term thinking: What skills and attributes do their fathers have that they would like to immolate? How do you put yourself in a position to accomplish that?
Training Topics:
Each trip will cover the following essential training topics, creating opportunities to learn and apply new knowledge in real-time:
- Campsite Setup
Learning how to set up a comfortable and functional camp, working together to create a safe space.
- Fire Building
Mastering the art of starting and maintaining a fire, which teaches resilience, patience, and resourcefulness.
- Food Preparation
Skills for preparing meals in the wilderness, including safety considerations and teamwork in the woods.
- Hunting Safety
Key safety practices that ensure a safe and respectful environment for both participants and wildlife.
- Hunting Principles
Understanding the ethical considerations and regulations around hunting.
- Hunting Techniques
Practical skills such as tracking, weapon handling, and silent movement to increase success in the field.
- Animal Cleaning

Each trip is more than just an adventure—it’s an opportunity to build a lasting foundation for your relationship that will continue long after the hunt is over.
We look forward to seeing you on one of our trips!
